Help Us Build CCM's Next Chapter

CCM Looking for Part-Time Social Media, IT & Event Tech Support in Philadelphia Area

Center for Contemporary Mysticism (CCM)

Some organizations talk about mysticism; CCM helps people experience it in community. As a highly respected nonprofit organization, the Center for Contemporary Mysticism (CCM) creates heart-centered spaces where people can encounter mystical traditions and practices, hear directly from contemporary mystics and authors, and find support as they explore and integrate their own spiritual experiences.

We are seeking a Philadelphia-region-based, part-time staff person who can help carry this work into its next chapter. This is a practical role—implementing programs, communications systems, providing outreach, and technical support—but also a relational one. The ideal candidate will understand that CCM's most important asset is the quality of community itself: warm, curious, nonjudgmental, spiritually open, and grounded in direct experience rather than doctrine.

What Makes CCM Distinctive

  • A heart-centered community where people can explore spiritual and mystical experience without having to fit a particular religious tradition.

  • A safe, nonjudgmental setting for reflection, silence, conversation, and the integration of powerful or unfamiliar spiritual experiences.

  • Access to authors, teachers, contemplatives, and mystics who speak from lived experience -not only about ideas.

  • A "virtual sacred space” that connects people in Philadelphia and locations far beyond.

  • A culture that values curiosity, compassion, trust, openness, direct experience, and a willingness to live with mystery.

Practical Details

Status: Part-time, paid position.

Hours: 10 hours/week to start, plus occasional weekend events or retreats.

Tech Work Hours: While the schedule will have some flexibility, initially the majority of time will be spent during weekday afternoons with the Executive Director. Eventually, those weekly hours will provide more opportunities for working remotely. As the position grows, some tasks currently being performed by Executive Director will be taken over, and new tasks such as social media will be added. Therefore, the number of hours may increase to a maximum of half-time.

Event Support Hours: Four to six times per year, the job will require in-person presence at events and/or retreats, which typically occur in Chestnut Hill on a Saturday or Sunday.

Location: Due to the necessity of being physically present for initial training and in-person events, residence in the greater Philadelphia area is required. While much of the tech work may eventually be done remotely, there will always be in-person events, retreats, and community life which require in-person participation.

Compensation: $10,000 to $15,000/year to start

Start date: January 4, 2027 (approx.)
