Journeying with the Mystics

TUESDAY EVENINGS IN FALL AND SPRING

An Exploration of Mysticism & Mystics

Each fall and spring we offer a series of meetings on Tuesday evenings for six sessions every other week. Each session includes a 7-minute presentation of 2 mystics, followed by questions and discussion. The course's purpose is not to make you an expert on mystics, but to utilize mystics to enhance each participant’s capacity for their own mysticism, and to awaken wonder and enchantment in daily life. Each session begins at 7:00 pm and concludes by 8:15 EDT.

Some of the Mystics studied previously were Edith Stein, St. Ignatius, Harriet Tubman, Evelyn Underhill, Tagore and Rabia Basra, St. Augustine from his Confessions, Carl Jung, Etty Hillesum from her Diaries, the Dutch Mystic John Ruusbroec, Desmond Tutu, and Dag Hammarskjöld from Markings. Participants can suggest mystics and even, if desired, offer a presentation.

Course leadership is shared by Cliff Cutler, Episcopal priest, and Sherri Retif, spiritual director. PLEASE NOTE: While there are no fees, registration is required. To be notified about dates for the next upcoming series or for more information or to register contact: journeywithmystics@gmail.com.

Listening Circle (occasional)

OCCASIONAL MEETINGS FOR MEMBERS

We at the Center want to offer programming to meet your spiritual needs. To that end, we occasionally invite members to participate in an online “listening circle” to let us know how we can best serve you, with questions such as... (1)What is a growing edge in your spiritual life? or (2) What do you most need in order to discover and express the fullness of your spiritual potential? or (3) What do you feel Spirit / your Divine Self is calling you to in these difficult times?

Listening circles are planned occasionally. There is no cost to participate, but slots are limited. If you would like more information or to participate, please contact the CCM Program Committee Chair, Patricia Pearce at ppearce@patriciapearce.com.
