Journeying with the Mystics (online)

An Exploration of Mysticism & Mystics

Mysticism and Mystics throughout the ages have a lot to teach us about our own spiritual journeys. We are not attempting to make you an expert on various mystics, but use various mystics to enhance each participant’s capacity for their own mysticism and to discover more enchantment in daily life. Consequently, this is not a lecture course. Eight-minute presentations of a mystic are followed by questions and discussion. We will explore mystics of various traditions such as Isaac the Syrian (Jesus’ death has to do with compassion not sin), the late Barbara A. Holmes (called the Howard Thurman of the 21st century), Catholic Worker Dorothy Day, and Kabir (Indian mystic and poet). Participants can suggest mystics and even offer presentations.

Participants have written, “A big thank you to both of you for being tour guides these last few months. You've introduced me to mystics who are new to me.” and ”Thanks for your work and preparations to bring the mystics to our awareness. Their consciousness in times of conflict, challenge and human suffering invite us to learn from them as models.”

Journeying with the Mystics is held each spring and fall on Zoom with participants from all over the country. Our spring session begins on April 14, 2026. Each session starts at 7 p.m. Eastern time, and finishes up by 8:15 p.m. Leadership is shared by Cliff Cutler and Sherri Retif, both Members of the Center for Contemporary Mysticism. PLEASE NOTE: While there are no fees, registration is required due to limited enrollment space.

Listening Circle (occasional)

OCCASIONAL MEETINGS FOR MEMBERS

We at the Center want to offer programming to meet your spiritual needs. To that end, we occasionally invite members to participate in an online “listening circle” to let us know how we can best serve you, with questions such as... (1)What is a growing edge in your spiritual life? or (2) What do you most need in order to discover and express the fullness of your spiritual potential? or (3) What do you feel Spirit / your Divine Self is calling you to in these difficult times?

Listening circles are planned occasionally. There is no cost to participate, but slots are limited. If you would like more information or to participate, please contact the CCM Program Committee Chair, Patricia Pearce at ppearce@patriciapearce.com.
